The Work & Social Adjustment Scale (W&SAS) is a simple 5-item measure of general socialimpairment which grew out of a study of change during psychotherapy.
Originally a 4-item scale (work, home, social, and private leisure) used to rate disability in phobia research, Mundt et al (2002 adapted it to measure the outcome of most patients in treatment and later added its fifth item concerning interpersonal relations.
