It is a flexible cage, tray and moveable screen arrangement, originally used in studies of learning and perception in rheseus monkeys.. It allows for a single monkey to be caged and the trays are set out with objects that the animal can select and the screens are used to hide changes to the arrangements to test the abilities of the subject.
