Welcome Dolph

Im very glad you have decided to join us. Do let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

I'll include our usual welcome information some of which you may find useful, as we are different from Wikipedia, being primarily an academic site.

Also:

Even if you are experienced on Wikipedia, I suggest you read our beginners guide, as we do a lot of things differently on the Psychology Wiki.

It is important to understand that the pages of Wikipedia reproduced here are used as placeholders. We expect 2/3rds of them to be substantially editied or rewritten so do feel free to change them markedly to fit the needs of the site.

Tip: you can sign your username on talk pages (like this one) using four tildes ~~~~; this will automatically produce your name, date and time-stamp. Three tildes will just produce your name.

If you have any questions, please contact one of our Administrators.

Thanks again for submitting your work for inclusion and helping on the Netherlands section.
I put up an announcement about your call for reports of experiences on the 'current events' page - see link on left.Dr Joe Kiff - User:Lifeartist (talk) 15:00, 5 September 2006 (UTC)

Welcome back Edit

Hello Dolph. I hope you had a good holidayDr Joe Kiff - User:Lifeartist (talk) 18:45, 26 September 2006 (UTC)

Interesting couple of linksEdit

Thanks for pointing out these two issues to me. I traced the tribune article down. As I understand it they are employing more technical staff in Poland to help provide 24 hr global coverage to complement tech support in Australia, Florida and San Francisco. They spoke about this at Wikimania. It looks as if we were mentioned just to show the range of wikia.

Mostly Zen pointed out the citizendium site to me yesterday. I think there are some good ideas there. But in my mind I am categorizing wikis as a)everyman for everyman sites, eg Wikipedia b)experts for everyman eg Citizendium and c) experts for experts eg our wiki. I think there is an overlap in philosphy but also necesary differences in organization and practice. I think we have still some way to go to negotiate the significance of these differences.

Do keep in touch with the site and contribute as you feel able.RegardsDr Joe Kiff - User:Lifeartist (talk) 22:31, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the bookEdit

Hello Dolf. Many thanks for the copy of your book. I found it a very fascinating and inspiring read. I hope to do a review for our professional journal. I think your approach really helps to show the importance of these experiences. I look forward to you being able to give some time to organizing our developmental psychology area when you can make it, but as I know myself there are not enough hours in the day! Kind regards Dr Joe Kiff 08:34, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
