My background is in software engineering, from which I am retired after 40 years working for software companies large and small, and in the particular form of meditation called transcending, for which I trained as a teacher of Transcendental Meditation (TM) and of which I have been a teacher of Natural Stress Relief (NSR) since 2006.
I am interested in human psychology, particularly in the nature of consciousness.
Besides teaching meditation as a vocation, I have also conducted research studies on NSR with my colleague Dr. Fabrizio Coppola, whose postgraduate degrees are in physics and psychology (I have a BA in physics). Dr. Coppola had published one paper on NSR at the time I joined the Istituto Scientia project, and we have since jointly published another. We are working on two papers reporting our subsequent research, and are planning future research directions. I am a regular contributor to Wikipedia, making mostly minor edits to articles of all kinds. Dr. Coppola is currently publisher of the revived general scientific journal Scientia.
