This UK Protection from Harassment Act 1997, aimed largely at the activity of stalkers, made it a criminal offence to pursue a course of unwanted conduct, which amounted to harassment of a person. Harassment was not specifically defined but was somewhat clarified in 2002 when the Archbold case suggested criminal harassment would require at least two occasions and be what 'a reasonable person in possession of the same information' would think amounted to harassment.
