Transpersonal Psychology: Integral · Esoteric · Meditation

A transpersonal experience is an experience of being out-of-body, out-of-place and/or out-of-time. The word is used for a number of phenomena studied in transpersonal psychology and transpersonal anthropology. The state can be achieved in meditation, in dreams, through ingesting psychedelic drugs, participation in rituals, or even spontaneously.

An example given by Stanislav Grof involves a woman who experienced being her grandmother as a child during an LSD session.
