Transfer students are students moving from one school or university to another.

For some this transition is easy but for others it can be a time of acute stress which can impact on their academitic and social performance in ways which may be unhelpful. All such students require assessment and monitoring until they are settled, with appropriate support provided where needed.

Children of itinerent workers such as military servicemen and ethnic groups such as gypsies often fall into this category.
