Topological psychology is an approach to understanding social behavior developed by Kurt Lewin. It was an aspect of his field theory and partly illustrated by his equation.

It was named with reference to the idea of topology the area of mathematics concerned with the geometric properties of a figure that remain unchanged when it is deformed. [1]
