A theoretical interpretation or psychological interpretation is an analysis or explanation offered regarding a particular event or process that is generated from a particular theoretical orientation. This is a term that can be applied in most areas of psychology but is particularly relevant in clinical psychology where the idea of psychoanalytic interpretation has had marked influence in the past.
