- The Northfiel experiment was a therapeutic community which was extremely influential in its day.
It developed at Northfield Military hospital in Birmingham in the UK and was the result of a collaboration of a number of people who would go on subsequently to develop group therapy and therapeutic communities throughout the country. The group included: Wilfred Bion ,Tom Main, Bridger, Rickman, Maxwell Jones and S. H. Foulkes
