The American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS), , provides a forum for the exchange of information and expertise in the care and use of laboratory animals.

Founded in 1950, it advocates the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals and helps maintain the quality of research that leads to scientific gains that benefits both people and animals.

It is a 501(c)3 nonprofit membership association.

It publishes two main journals: [Comparative Medicine]] and the Journal of the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science
