Citation needed and potential bias[]

The influence of parents during childhood is the most significant influence on the tendencies of the child toward gender roles in life. These tendencies are not permanent, but by learned behavior can be highly valued by the individual.

This statement may be considered biased, so a citation would be most helpful Dr. Becker-Weidman Talk 17:46, May 3, 2010 (UTC)

I apologize, I did not read over this last part well enough, for I was focusing on adding to the already existing statement of the value the individual. I will remove this for now, because it isn't appropriate in this form, and will add what I wanted to add in a non-biased way at a later date when I can take a proper amount of time to consider the information and my sources.Joshlepaknpsa 13:24, May 4, 2010 (UTC)

No need to apologize at all. You added something that made sense at the moment and another editor, me in this case, raised a question, and you decided to re-edit your additions. That is precisely how this site is supposed to work. We share ideas and observations and articles improve over time through such collaborations. The inclusion of sourced material is always preferable, particularly because it allows the reader to delve in more depth. Dr. Becker-Weidman Talk 17:53, May 4, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for the observations, I appreciate the logical considerations you have made concerning my edit and re-edit. I will always take this kind of communication very seriously. I would like to spend more time getting sources together and editing articles more completely, but I don't have enough free time or computer availability to help as much as I would like to.Joshlepaknpsa 12:34, May 5, 2010 (UTC)
