When describing the history of psychotherapy, given the influence of psychoanalysis in the XX century, it is still traditional to start with the Viennese physician Sigmund Freud, albeit what is still considered valid today of his theorization is not his own original produce and what is really new has been definitely disconfirmed from research[citation needed].
