I would advise, strongly, that the references section of this page be drastically cut. It does not conform to the intent and purpose of a Reference section (i.e., to document content and provide further details on information provided).

As one of the authors, I can afirm that my publication, and several others, are not relevant to the text provided and do not aid the curious reader. This wiki is a very general description of the facial nerve and its function in humans. But many of the articles in the reference section address very specific functions and information that are not provided in the article. Further, many of those references refer to animal models. It would be much more appropriate to include general studies that refer to taste in humans. 14:19, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
