Superordinate goals, in psychology, are goals which can only be achieved by the contribution and co-operation of two or more people or groups must.

Muzafer Sherif (1953) performed a study involving a group of boys at a camp that were in opposition to one another. He was able to successfully bring these two groups together by using a superordinated goal. The end result of the study was bonding of both groups.
