• In neuroscience:
  • Summation (neurophysiology)
    • Sensory summation

    • Temporal summation

• In psychoanalysis summation is the culmination repressed or suppressed wishes, forcing the ego to become conscious of all dissociated needs at once, showing through postural tensions of the striped muscle apparatus.[1]

• In statistics it is the totaling of a series of numbers.
