In neuroscience, stellate cells are inhibitory interneurons found within the molecular layer of the cerebellum.

These cells synapse onto the dendritic arbors of Purkinje cells.

Stellate cells have spheroidal somas with dendrites projecting for short distances in all directions. They are concerned largely with receiving sensory input and processing information on a local level.
