Psychologists should:
- Make clear at the first contact, or at the earliest opportunity, the conditions under which the professional services may be terminated.
- Take advice where there appears to be ambiguity about continuing with professional services.
- Terminate professional services when clients do not appear to be deriving benefit and arc unlikely to do so.
- Refer clients to alternative sources of assistance as appropriate, facilitating the transfer and continuity of care through reasonable collaboration with other professionals.
