Special visceral efferent (SVE) refers to efferent nerves which supply muscles which derived from the branchial arches.^[1] Examples of nerves that contain SVE fibers include the trigeminal nerve, the facial nerve, the glossopharyngeal nerve, the vagus nerve, and the accessory nerve.^[2]

Some sources prefer the term "branchiomotor".^[3]
