Skills based Training on Risk Management STORM is a course developed by the University of Manchester which offers skills-based training in risk assessment and management of suicide and self-injury.
STORM is made up of four modules:
- Assessment – This focuses on the skills needed to assess the risk of suicide.
- Crisis Management – This focuses on the skills needed to keep a person safe once the risk of suicide has been identified.
- Problem Solving – It involves developing skills to elp people take control of their problems by developing problem solving skills.
- Crisis Prevention – This focuses on developing a plan for the future in the event that the risk of suicide reoccurs.
