A school nurse helps students with problems requiring first aid,or students who have cold or flu-like symptoms or other health issues that affect their school work.

Role

Their responsibilities are largely focused around physical health issues but because of their role in school they may be confided in about emotional issues [[:Category:{{{1}}}|{{{1}}}]] .

The nurse may dispense O.T.C. medication to the students with parental consent, or to any student who is legally an adult according to state laws. The nurse also can dispense prescribed medication under direction of the student's doctor.
