The Santa Clara Strength of Religious Faith Questionnaire was developed by Thomas G. Plante and Marcus Boccaccini of Santa Clara University.

The scale measures of how central a role religion plays in the respondents life. This varies widely, and has been shown to be related aspects of personality and ideological beliefs.

The measure includes questions designed to tap into different aspects of religious faith and practice. While these different facets of religion are certainly related to one another, they can also be quite independent, and can even vary between individuals who consider themselves similarly religiousity
