The Rivermead Perceptual Assessment Battery is an assesment battery that can be used after stroke or head injury to establish a person's level of visual perceptual functioning. Repeated measures allows for progress in cognitive rehabilitation to be measured.


The battery includes 16 sub-tests including:

  • Picture matching
  • Object matching
  • Size recognition
  • Series
  • Missing articles
  • Sequencing pictures
  • Right/left copying words
  • Cube copying
  • Three-dimensional copying
  • Cancellation
  • Figure ground discrimination
  • Animal halves
  • Body-image self-identification
