Retaliation is a form of interpersonal interaction, the the act of responding aggressively to an act of hostility or perceived injustice. This may be a physicial act as in a counterattack in response to attack behavior amongst both animals and humans. But it can also be a form of social behavior amongst humans as they extract revenge in more subtle ways.
