Respiration stimulating drugs are drugs that increase respiration. Some drugs are used for therapeutic purposes to help with respiratory distress and respiratory tract disorders.

Other drugs may produce the effects as a side effect and may lead to hyperventilation if taken in overdose. For example amphetamine and caffeine can have this effect.
