Remedial reading is an aspect of reading education and is the structured attempt to improve peoples reading ability where reading assessment indicates that they are performing below their potential level, perhaps through poor education, illness etc. This is particularly important in the field of remedial education where it is provided to help people develop their educational careers to a higher level and where poor reading skills can severely hinder general educational achievement.
