R.I Watson, was an American psychologist.

He collaborated with E.L. Annin, E.G. Boring and reported [citation needed] on the evaluations made by 9 eminent psychologists who rated possible candidates on the basis of their contribution to the early development of the discipline of psychology. The ratings were on a three point scale. With a possible score of 27 Leonard Zusne selected those with a cutoff score of 11 or more for inclusion in his initial Biographical Dictionary of Psychology [1] .

Watson published his own volume "Eminent Contributors to the History of Psychology" [citation needed]
