In psychoanalysis primary narcissism is the normal process in the young, of narcissism, concentrating the investment of libido in their own bodies and subsequently themselves. If this situation continues into adulthood, particulalry to the exclusion of investment in others, a narcissistic neurosis may result leading to difficulties with clinical narcissim.
