Postactivation potentials are produced after brief high frequency electical stimulation of neurons resulting in increased synaptic and cellular responsiveness.

Long-term potentiation

Long-term potentiation (LTP) is a persistent increase in synaptic strength following high-frequency stimulation of a chemical synapse.
