Outcome might occur in a number of contexts in psychology:
- Outcome-based education and linked to this Learning outcomes
- Outcome bias - One will often judge a decision by its eventual outcome instead of based on the quality of the decision at the time it was made
- Outcome (game theory)
- In clinical trials patient-reported outcome is an important element of judging effectiveness of procedures.
- In health care a negative outcome is an adverse effect (medicine)
In psychology factors are commonly seen as independent variables and outcomes as the dependent variables, and the effect of one upon the other is often mediated by processes.
