Narratophilia is a paraphilia, in which the sexual arousal from reading or listening to erotic literature becomes a necessary stimulus for sexual performance, for without it sexual satisfaction and orgasm cannot be achieved.

This is not a term applied to the ordinary enjoyment of erotica or its use in sex play.
