In musical cognition, musical hallucinations are hallucinations which provide the experience of coherent music being performed but in the abscence of a source. Reports of these experiences are relatively common, in terms of other complex auditory hallucinations and may be the result of a wide range of causes ranging from hearing-loss (such as in Musical Ear Syndrome), lateral temporal lobe epilepsy, arteriovenous malformation[1], stroke, lesion, or tumor.
