A multimodal treatment approach is a treatment approach combining elements from within the same discipline. This is in distinction to an interdisciplinary treatment approach combining elements across dscipline boundaries. So by this definition CAT therapy is a multimodal approach combining as it does elements of cognitive behavior therapy and psychoanalytic therapy.
