Motor aphasia,the partial or complete loss of the ability to articulate speech. This occurs as the result of cortical tissue lesions in the areas responsible for speech eg Broca's area.

There are several sub types identified by the area of the lesion, although the structures of these areas are intertwined and the distinctions may not be clearcut.
