A masculinity - femininity scale ( or MF scale) measures the the stereotypical masculine or feminine interests or behaviors of a person.
Such scales are gender free so that ones sex does not dictate the answers.
Such scales should be regarded as culture specific because different cultures mhave different stereotypes om masculine and feminine behavior.
These scales may be free standing or integrated into wider measures as in the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory.
