A logatome is an artificial word of only one or just some syllables which obeys all the phonotactic rules of a language, but still does not have a meaning of its own. Examples of English logatomes would be the nonsense words snarp or bluck.

Logatomes are most often used in acoustic experiments^[1]. They are also used in psychology of learning, as a way to examine speech recognition^[2].
