Locura is a form of culture-bound mental illness found in parts of Latin America and amongst Latino immigrants in the US. It resembles chronic psychosis and is often misdiagnosed as schizophrenia. Symptoms include auditory and visual hallucinations, psychomotor agitation and in some people aggressive outbursts.
