James Mourilyan Tanner (born August 1 1920) is a British pediatrician. He was born in Camberley, Surrey, UK.
He is best known for his development of the Tanner stages, scales for stages of sexual development in puberty. He is a professor emeritus of the Institute of Child Health at the University of London.
