Inference to the best explanation (IBE) is an alternative method to evaluating the explanatory worth of theories. Psychologists traditionally have evaluated theories employing the Hypothetico-deductive model but as Jansen (2004)[1] points out in other areas of science practitioners as eminent as Darwin and Einstein have employed IBE to supplement their arguments.
