Hyalophagia, or hyalophagy, is the eating of glass, primarily as a pathological disorder. Highly dangerous to most humans, it is considered a form of pica. Hyalophagia forms a part of some circus acts.
The word comes from Greek hyalos = glass + phagein = to eat.
