The Psychology Wiki is intended to be of use to all people with an interest in Psychology and the application of psychology in improving our lives. Although most of the contributors will likely be students, professionals and academics, most of the users of the site will most likely not have formal psychology training.

The experiences of 'normal' people who do not have formal training are still very valuable however. For all the training that a clinical psychologist may have in understanding conditions such as Acquired Brain Injury or Schizophrenia, it is a totally different experience if you actually are experiencing that condition personally. A secondary, but equally important aspect of the Psychology Wiki will be to include experiences of people who use psychology services.

In this way, other people who may have had similar experiences, either themselves or through a family member can learn greatly from your contribution. It also allows the professionals and academics (as well as trainees and students) a way to gain insight into the subjective experience.
