Hippolyte Marie Bernheim (1837-1919) was a French physician and hypnotist

He is considered by some experts to be the most important figure in the history of hypnotism.[1] Along with Ambroise-Auguste Liébeault he founded the Nancy School which became the dominant force in hypnotherapeutic theory and practice in the last two decades of the 19th century.
