The History of psychology in Ghana started in the early 1960's. It was first introduced as a course of study in the University of Ghana on the 30th of May 1963. Prof ssor C.E. Fiscian was the first head of department and he was supervised or guided by Professor Gustav Jahoda. It started with only 4 students, one girl and three boys. Now due to the great social and individual changes psychology can bring into society, it had 4,000 students as at 2007.
