Francis L. Ilg was an American developmental psychologist. She worked with Arnold Gesell and with him coauthored two childrearing guides, Infant and Child in the Culture of Today in 1943, and The Child from Five to Ten in 1946. In 1950, she then went on to found the [[Gesell Institute|Gesell Institute of Human Development] with her collegue from the Clinic of Child Development,Louise Bates Ames.
