On the 1st and 2nd of May 1998 the "Free University Berlin" together with the "Irren-Offensive" (Lunatics Offensive) Association organized in Berlin an international Tribunal on the state of Psychiatry in the Volksbühne" theatre.

The Tribunal was named after Michel Foucault, the French philosopher and author of "Madness and Civilization: A History of Insanity in the Age of Reason".
