People can fake good (aka faking good) in neuropsychological testing where they feel it will serve their interests. The opposite is known as fake bad.
So for example in psychometric asessment regarding suitability for adoption people may be tempted to skew their answers in a way they feel will put them in a good light. To try to monitor for this tendency some symptom validity testing should be included in the test battery.
