Emotional disturbances are persistant counterproductive patterns of emotional response which are judged to be inappropriate in the contexts in which they occur. Such disturbances arise where emotional control and emotional regulation fail. Such responses are characteristic of people with a lack of emotional maturity and who are prone to emotionality
