Eleanor E. Maccoby was Barbara Kimball Browning Professor of developmental psychology at Stanford University where she is now emeritus professor.
Her main interests are in socialization and parent-child interaction, and developmental change in personality and social behavior. She has also researched divorce and its aftermath as related to custodial arrangements and the differential development of male and female children.
