I tried to adapt these emails as much as possible to make them individual. People respond much better to individual emails rather than a mass spam list, so its a good approach to take.

From reading Neurotopia, I see that you're active in the online psychology community, and a neuroscience rsearcher as well. I thought you'd be interested in a new project I am involved with - The Psychology Wiki

The psychology wiki is a new community being built with MediaWiki software (like wikipedia). Its hosted by a company called Wikia, which was founded by Jimmy Wales and Angela Beesley. There are Google Ads on the site, but we dont make money from the project, they're just to pay for the bandwidth, storage and technical support that Wikia give us.

I won't say too much, as I'd like you to judge it for yourself, but you should find that it is different from Wikipedia, because approximately 90% of our contributors so far are professional psychologists, academics, or students and trainees. For example, our founder is a clinical psychologist with 30 years experience, and I am a psychology undergraduate.

Have a look and see what you think. If you think the site would be interesting to readers of your blog or website, please could you consider promoting us? (We have recently been mentioned on www.mindhacks.com) and we have already linked your blog on our bloglist.
