In the auditory system the dorsal acoustic stria of von Monakow (known variously as dordal acoustic stria (DAS) or stria of von Monakow) is one of three major projections from the cochlear nuclei. It rises above the medulla into the pons where it hits the nuclei of the lateral lemniscus along with its kin, the intermediate acoustic stria (IAS) Along this chain auditory input is processed.
